Black Star Angus is situated in Mudgegonga, near Myrtleford, in North East Victoria. Our goal is to produce quality bulls for ourselves and other commercial breeders in the North East.
Black Star Angus was created in early 2011 when the opportunity arose to purchase a terrific line of heifers from Team Te Mania member Susie Chisholm. The heifers were purchased in-calf to great Te Mania sires including Angus breed heroes Berkley and Africa and some rising stars in Daiquiri.
Since then we’ve carefully handpicked females from the stud dispersals of Aberdeen Estate, Old Kentucky and Welcome Swallow to further improve our cow herd.
Julian Carroll, owner and principle of Black Star Angus is a fourth generation beef producer in Mudgegonga. The Carroll family’s involvement in Angus goes back to the 1930′s. Running in parallel to the Black Star seed stock operation is a commercial enterprise of 420 females, producing steers for the EU feedlot market.
